Under the guidance of founder Dr. Pao and president Dr. Lee, the university has upheld the ideal of educating the whole person, with emphasis on students’ learning of ethical values and appreciation for the arts. In 2000, at President Lee’s request that arts centers be established, Professors Te-Chao Chen and Chien-Sen Huang took charge of the new project. In March 2001, the Arts Centers on both Taipei and Taoyuan Campuses opened in conjunction with school’s 45th anniversary. As the founder and president cut the ribbons at the opening ceremony, so began the first arts exhibition in celebration of the birth of both centers.
The Arts Center consists of six components: the Lobby where we welcome the guests, the Display Room where works of great artistic achievement are displayed, the Currency & Coin Display Room, the Briefing Room, the Sculpture Display Room and the Archives Room where the documents & photos reflecting Ming Chuan’s establishment are found.
